SGCC’s Two S&T Projects Led by CEPRI Passed Acceptance Inspection

On August 16, SGCC’s two S&T projects “Research on Data Processing Theory and Methods of the Auxiliary Lines Selection Based on Satellite Remote Sensing Image” and “Research on Numerical Weather Prediction Model for Hydrological Forecasting”, both led by CEPRI, passed the acceptance inspection by the Science & Technology Department of SGCC.

In the project “Research on Data Processing Theory and Methods of the Auxiliary Lines Selection Based on Satellite Remote Sensing Image”, satellite remote sensing image fusion, classification and feature extraction technologies were proposed for site and line selection of power transmission and transformation projects. A quality evaluation and precision index system based on processing of multi-temporal/ multi- spatial resolution and multi-source remote sensing data was established. And the cloud platform and mobile terminal for collaborative design of site and line selection was developed. The results of the project provide methods, standards and platform guarantee for the popularization and application of satellite remote sensing image in the site and line selection of transmission and transformation projects.

In the project “Research on Numerical Weather Prediction Model for Hydrological Forecasting”, a high-precision land surface database and key parameter sets were established, and a numerical weather prediction model system for hydrological forecasting was developed. These achieve the refinement and localization of precipitation forecasting, and have significantly improved the timeliness and precision of hydrological forecasting. The research results of the project provide technical support for hydropower operation & dispatching and power grid disaster prevention and mitigation.
