Beijing Key Laboratory on Distribution Transformer Energy Saving Technology

Beijing Key Laboratory on Distribution Transformer Energy Saving Technology is located in Qinghe Campus of China Electric Power Research Institute. Founded in 2011 upon the approval of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, it is operated and managed by Power Distribution Department under China Electric Power Research Institute.

According to the demand for energy conservation and emissions reduction of distribution network as well as the goal of promoting the improvement in distribution transformer efficiency, the Laboratory specializes in tackling key scientific research projects, providing technical service, carrying out test and detection, and formulating relevant standards in terms of energy saving distribution transformer detection technology, energy saving technology and intelligent power distribution area technology, etc. It aims to tackle such core technical problems as safety, stability and practical application effect of high-efficiency energy-saving distribution transformer as existing in the popularization, with focus being placed on design, application and detection, etc. of distribution transformer.

The Laboratory has acquired CMA certificate issued by Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China, CNAS certificate issued by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, and CQC certificate issued by China Quality Certification Center (CQC). It is the professional testing institution of distribution transformer energy-saving certification designated by CQC, and the special sampling inspection agency of distribution transformer designated by State Grid Corporation of China. The Laboratory has the first evaluation system of key performance and comprehensive energy efficiency of energy-saving distribution transformer in China as well as distribution transformer comprehensive performance test system, automatic detection system of load test on distribution transformer, and key performance test system of amorphous alloy iron core distribution transformer, etc. It is capable of conducting test on sudden short circuit of distribution transformer, energy saving effect of transformer and comprehensive performance of key parts and components, etc., with its three-phase AC short-circuit test ability reaching 420V and 100kA.
